Same data, a different audience
The standard pitching report is a working document. It is dense on purpose, because a pitching coach preparing for a start wants every number available and does not need it to be pretty. That density is a feature in the dugout and a liability when the reader is somebody who has not seen the format before.
This layout is for that second audience. A college recruiter opening an email, a coordinator getting a report on a player he has not evaluated, a parent trying to understand what their son actually throws — those readers need the information framed, not just presented. The MLB-style layout leads with the arsenal, uses the visual conventions pro departments have already trained people to read, and lets the numbers land without a decoder ring.
The velocity benchmarking does part of that work. Someone outside of analytics does not necessarily know whether 85 mph on a slider is good; next to the major-league average for that pitch type it immediately means something, and it means something honest, because it is a real comparison rather than a grade invented to flatter the player. Spin and movement are shown as well, though without an MLB reference line.
Velocity distribution curves are the other piece worth understanding. An average velocity of 89 mph can describe a pitcher who sits 88-90 every pitch or one who ranges 85-93, and those are completely different arms with completely different problems. The curve shows the shape, which is why professional reports show distributions where amateur ones show a single number.

How is this different from the standard pitching report?
Same underlying data, different presentation. The standard report is dense and built for a pitching coach working through a start; this one is built for readers who need context and visual framing — recruiters, coordinators, players, and parents.
What is it benchmarked against?
Velocity, against the major-league average for each pitch type. Spin and movement are displayed for every pitch but are not benchmarked — there is no MLB comparison line on those.
Can I send it to college coaches?
That is one of its main uses — it shares as a link or downloads as HTML or PDF, and the format is one recruiters recognize. Note that shareable links and PDF export require a paid plan; the free plan lets you generate and view reports but not share or export them.
What data do I need?
A Trackman or Yakkertech game CSV — the same file that powers your standard pitching report. No extra setup.
Does it work for bullpens?
It is built for game data. Bullpen sessions have their own report format that drops game-outcome stats, since a pen has no batters or called strikes.
